Glycine Put Bronze and Ceramic Together, and Now I'm Waiting for March

Glycine combined bronze and ceramic, and I'm waiting for March. My first-look rating is 107/120 bezel clicks; $750 is my estimate.

I've been hyper-fixated on Glycine for the last week or so. I literally just found out about them, which is crazy after how long I've been into watches, especially given how many reviews and posts were sitting there on YouTube and Instagram the entire time.

And now Glycine has announced the Combat Sub 42 Bronze Ceramic, right after I spent yesterday seriously looking at a bronze Combat Sub or one of their ceramic versions. I didn't think to combine the two. Apparently they did, and this thing looks amazing.

The price I actually care about

When I look at the design, the proportions, the specs and what I can actually get for the money, Glycine gets very compelling very quickly. There's a large selection, and the prices I'm shopping are generally around $500 to $600 for a Combat Sub, with some versions costing more.

Glycine's own US store makes the distinction pretty clear. The Combat Sub 42 GL0433 is listed at $515 against a $1,530 list price. The bronze GL0425 is $615 against $1,650, and the Box Ceramic GL0524 is $680 against $1,750. Those are USD asking prices checked October 19, 2026, and they're the numbers I'm interested in when I'm looking at what the brand offers.

At those prices, the designs and proportions look amazing to me. It's a brand I somehow missed, and now I'm spending an unreasonable amount of time looking through its catalog.

The combination I hadn't thought of

Glycine's October 19 announcement shows the new Bronze Ceramic with black and blue dial-and-bezel combinations, matching straps and a bronze case. The broad ceramic bezel, the bronze around it and the dial all work together for me. It has its own identity, and I think it's absolutely beautiful-looking.

The announcement calls it the Combat Sub 42 Bronze Ceramic. The pictured dial says Automatic and SUB 20 ATM, with a date at three and an inner 13–24 scale. I haven't worn it, and the exact movement, thickness and price haven't been confirmed in the material I've found.

For now, I'm giving it 107 out of 120 bezel clicks from the announcement and photos. For its position on my chart, I'm estimating $750 USD as of October 19, 2026. That's my placeholder, and I'll update it when Glycine announces the actual price.

March feels a million years away

Asked about the release date on Instagram, Glycine replied that it's “hoping for March 2027!” So March is the current hope, and there's no confirmed shipping date yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if this one is hard to get. I'll be stalking Glycine for the moment these go up for sale because I want to be in that initial wave of purchases. I really haven't said that about a watch release before. They're quickly becoming one of my favorite brands overall.

I'll probably buy a Combat Sub before this one comes out, once I have the money for it. Then I want to do a full, in-depth review, with B-roll and macro shots, and really go over every aspect of the watch. March feels a million years away, but that should give me time to get a Combat Sub on my wrist first.
