Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT 42
The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT 42 is a GMT travel watch from Christopher Ward: a 42 mm stainless steel case, 11.5 mm thick and 48.5 mm lug to lug, with an automatic Sellita SW330-2 movement and 150 m water resistance.
Going by its 48.5 mm lug to lug, it should sit within the flat top of a wrist of about 6.6 inches (16.7 cm) or larger.
Research found it at $1,395 list in the US (checked August 2026).
This is exactly the GMT I've been hunting for, Explorer II style with a plain steel 24-hour bezel, and the case, bracelet and clasp are excellent for the money. It leans on the Explorer II, but it has enough of its own identity to stay inside my no-homage rule, and I want to try the 39 mm before I decide.

What the research found
These are the research’s judgments, scored against Holden’s priorities, not his own words.
Strengths
- Exceptional execution for money - Lightcatcher case finishing (three brushing directions plus polished chamfers), sandwich sapphire, applied date, Grade X1 lume; Mainspring: 'hard-pressed to find a more accomplished watch for the asking price'
- 2026 redesign cut GMT thickness to 11.3mm at 39mm x 45mm - near-ideal sports-GMT proportions for most wrists
- iLink tool-free bracelet adjustment is a genuine engineering convenience, not marketing
- Pistachio dial with color-matched glossy GMT hand gives it real identity and the 39mm exclusivity makes it distinctive
- True 150m sports WR with screw-down crown
Weaknesses
- Caller-style SW330-2: the local hour is not independently jumpable, less ideal for actual travel than a flyer GMT
- Third-party movement with standard finishing - substance is honest, not special
- CW warranty/service depth could not be verified this session; brand is direct-to-consumer, not a Swatch-scale network
- Resale on CW historically lands well below retail
